KATHMANDU, Oct 17: The local voters of Nawalparasi west have said that they do not expect anything from industrialist Binod Chaudhary, a candidate for the House of Representative constituency number 1 of the district.

They said that the MPs who won the elections in the past did not do anything and they do not expect anything from Chaudhary, an industrialist who is running in the HoR election from the ruling coalition. Baidanath Kharal, a local resident, responded that he did not think Chaudhary will work for development as no candidate in the past has done it.

However, Kharal expected that the MP who will win in the election will help build better roads. He mentioned that industrialist Chaudhary would have made necessary arrangements for the road in his area within two days if he wanted.

Similarly, some voters have said that they have no information regarding industrialist Chaudhary. Dinanath Kandel, a local resident said that he cannot expect anything from Chaudhary as he does not know him. “Are you able to keep the people happy, take care of the poor, and provide employment?” said Kandel stating that he would vote for him if he would answer this.

Some voters alleged that because the leaders want to become MPs for their personal interests, they cannot expect them to work for development and people. They are also of the opinion that the people will vote for a leader who understands the pain of the people and paves the way for them in the upcoming elections.

The Nepali Congress has made Chaudhary a candidate for the member of the House of Representatives from that area. He is contesting against the leader of Janata Pragatisheel Party and former minister Hridayesh Tripathi, who is also supported by CPN-UML. It is expected that the electoral competition between Tripathi, who has a political background, and Chaudhary, who has a business background, will be interesting.
