KATHMANDU, Feb 5: Prime Minister and chairman of a faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) KP Oli has said the question as to which faction of the NCP is the main party has been resolved from Friday.
Addressing a mass rally organized by his faction of the party at Durbarmarg in the capital, Prime Minister Oli said that the rally organized in the capital on Friday was a historic one. He added ‘the biggest rally ever organized by any party so far’ is a testimony to the fact that the NCP faction led by him was the main party of the country.
"Is there anyone still confused which one is the main party?" asked Prime Minister Oli. "We are the main party. We are not only the main communist party in the country but also the main party of the country as a whole."
Prime Minister Oli said that any venue in the capital city Kathmandu has proved to be too small for his faction of the NCP to hold a rally. "We failed to find an appropriate venue for organizing a mass rally. But for others any venue is too big. We chose the biggest possible venue in the capital. But yet not all people are accommodated here. But again people are still confused as to which one is the main party. If people are still confused we are only sorry for them," he said.
"This is the main party where you and we are now. This is the biggest party yet in the country. This is the party that is committed to safeguarding national independence and use this appropriately and safeguard the country's territorial integrity. From today, the debate of which one is the main and original party is resolved. The verdict has been made already," he added.
