Ward chairpersons throw garbage in front of mayor’s house in Janakpur

KATHMANDU, Oct 31: The local people's representatives of Janakpurdham have protested against the mayor of the sub-metropolis, Lal Kishor Shah, by throwing garbage in front of his house. They have accused Mayor Shah of not paying attention to sanitation even on the occasion of the festival of lights, Tihar.

KATHMANDU, Oct 31: The local people's representatives of Janakpurdham have protested against the mayor of the sub-metropolis, Lal Kishor Shah, by throwing garbage in front of his house. They have accused Mayor Shah of not paying attention to sanitation even on the occasion of the festival of lights, Tihar.


Similarly, some ward chairpersons have even warned Mayor Shah that they would smear black soot on his face as he has not shown any interest in proper waste management in the sub-metropolis even in the festival season.

The chairpersons of ward 1, 3, 4 and 7, Shatrudhan Shah, Dipendra Shah, Sudarshan Singh and Janakiram Sahal, respectively, have also staged a sit-in in front of the Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan Office.


After the police did not allow them to throw the garbage in front of Mayor Shah’s house, they staged a sit-in in front of the sub-metropolitan office. The ward chairpersons have accused Mayor Shah of not showing interest in waste management, not even providing them tractors, neglecting the people and focusing only on corruption.
