Ward Chairman, who is on the absconding list of police, holds meeting with UML Chairman Oli

BARA, May 31: Sunil Gupta, ward chairman of Jeetpursimra sub-metropolitan city-7, is on the absconding list of the police. District Police Office, Bara has issued an arrest warrant against Gupta on May 18 in a criminal case.

However, Gupta has released a picture of him meeting the top leader of CPN-UML. While he is on the run, he has released a photo of him reaching Balkot in Kathmandu on May 29 and meeting UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli through social media.

Bara Police Chief Superintendent of Police Hobindra Bogti said that Gupta is absconding in the criminal nuisance case but he does not know which leader he met. He said that there was information that Gupta escaped and went to Kathmandu.

Raju Giri of Jeetpur Simara-7 had filed a complaint against Gupta. Based on this, the police issued arrest warrants against six people including Ward Chairman Gupta, his brother Anil Gupta, Manoj Gupta, Sunil Shah.

The police have detained Manoj Gupta, Sunil Shah and are currently investigating, while they are looking for four others who are on the run, including the ward chairman and his brother.

The victims allege that on April 1, Ward Chairman Gupta tried to rob the house of Raju Giri, a resident of Jitpur, and also dug a sloped road with millions of budget funds of the Ministry of Urban Development in front of the house, damaging private and public property.

There is a legal system that can punish up to three years of imprisonment if convicted by the court in the case of criminal nuisance.
