Ward chairman arrested with bribe

BARA , Dec 18: Tara Karki, ward chairman of Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-3, was arrested red-handed with bribe money on Monday.

Karki was arrested by the Hetauda office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) while accepting a bribe of Rs 500,000 from a local businessman at a sweets store in Jitpur.

Umakant Acharya, head of CIAA Hetauda, confirmed that the ward chairman of Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan-3 was arrested while accepting bribes.

Karki was elected as the ward chairman from UML.
