KATHMANDU, Aug 3: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has taken a step towards a more youth-friendly and inclusive leadership by inviting applications from interested individuals from across the country for 20 central member positions. The party said the move is aimed at encouraging the participation of young leaders in shaping the party's future.

Applicants under the age of 40 are eligible to apply for these central member positions. The aspiring youths are required to submit their personal details along with a future action plan to the party's official address by the third week of August.

The selection process for the central member positions will consider factors such as geography, population representation, potential areas for party influence, and gender balance. RPP Central Member, Saraswati Adhikari, emphasized that at least 50 percent of the positions will be allocated to women, promoting gender inclusivity within the party.

Chief Secretary Kedar Adhikari of RPP expressed the need to empower youth in politics and mainstream decision-making. “At present, youths interested in joining politics often face prolonged waiting periods to assume prominent positions. Our new approach aims to change this trend by providing more opportunities for youths to actively participate in shaping the nation's future,” he claimed.

In addition to youth representation, the party will consider applicants' commitment to the party's policies, principles, agenda, and goals when selecting central members. Moreover, knowledge of information and technology, linguistic competence, and potential to compete as direct candidates in elections will also be taken into account.

The applications are open to all Nepali citizens, both within and outside the party, further emphasizing the party's openness to embracing diverse perspectives.

Chief Secretary Adhikari emphasized that the RPP's advocacy for constitutional monarchy, multi-party democracy, Hindu nation, strong local bodies, and a united Nepal will attract more youths to join the party. He believes that young individuals sharing the party's beliefs and agenda will seize this opportunity to collaborate with the party for the nation's development.
