KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Speaker Onsari Gharti called on Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun this morning.
During the meeting held at the residence of the Vice-President, Speaker Gharti familiarized about activities taking place in the Legislature-Parliament, her Russia visit from November 20-26 and her upcoming visit to Dubai for the participation in international program of women speakers.
On the occasion, Speaker Gharti also informed that she held separate meetings with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN (UML) leader KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, among other leaders to end differences seen among political parties in the Parliament over latest political development, said Gharti's press advisor Babin Sharma.
Gharti said that she was ready to play the role necessary to forge consensus among political parties by removing differences if needed.
Similarly, Vice-President Pun stressed the need of resolving the latest dispute seen among political parties immediately. Stressing that political consensus was indispensable to lead the country towards development by implementing the new constitution, he urged Speaker Gharti to play a coordinating role. RSS
