KATHMANDU, Oct 20: Speaker Onsari Gharti has cancelled her Switzerland visit. The Speaker aborted her week-long scheduled visit to Geneva due to special political developments surfaced of late in the country, Gharti's press advisor Basudev Sharma said.

The cancellation follows the filing of an impeachment motion against Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Lokman Singh Karki in the Legislature- Parliament Wednesday.
The Speaker was scheduled to fly to Switzerland to take part in the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly at Geneva on October 21 along with office bearers of Parliament Secretariat and the chief whips of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center). RSS
