Issuing a message on the eve of Nepali New Year 2073 on Tuesday, Vice-president Pun said that 2072 BS was a historic and a significant year for Nepalis.
“Promulgation of the constitution and devastation by earthquakes are two happiest and saddest events in the history of Nepal that occurred in the year,” reads the statement issued by Vice-president Pun.
He added that implementing the constitution, post-earthquake reconstruction and achieving economic and social prosperity are three major challenges Nepalis face in the coming year.
Likewise, Vice-president hoped that the New Year will motivate political parties inside and outside the parliament to resolve dissatisfactions in implementing the constitution through talks.
“I appeal all political parties to unite for implementing the constitution, protecting sovereignty of the nation and freedom of the people,” reads the statement.
