SAPTARI, May 13: Voting at two polling booths has been suspended at the Janata Secondary School voting station, Hariraha of Dakeshwori Municipality-2 in Saptari district today.
Locals manhandled Polling Officer Bipin Yadav over a dispute that arose in the course of the voting and also smashed a ballot box, hence the voting had to be suspended, said the Election Officer Shambhunath Magar.
Although the Election Officer and the assistant Election Officer tried to resume the voting by calling the political parties, an all-party meeting decided to put on hold the voting as the ballot box was broken and the ballot papers had been torn and scattered.
