POKHARA April 11: Vote counting in Kaski-1 has been halted  following serious question raised by all the political parties except Unified Communist party of Nepal (Maoist) over validity of votes in a polling station. When it was discovered that no vote was found cast for Nepali Congress (NC) even after counting the total votes of an entire booth at Lekhnath municipality-13 in the district, NC members doubted rigging in the polls.

The vote counting was halted after NC, CPN-UML and other political parties protest when the electronic voting machine showed that there was zero vote cast for NC, three vote for UML and 260 votes for the Unified CPN Maoist. NC, CPN-UML and other political parties took out a rally saying that the result was a mistake.

They have been sloganeering at the counting centers.

According to the latest counting, Deepak Gurung of NC received 9110 votes, Krishna Gurung of Maoist got 9106 and Shaligram Poudel of UML got 8537 votes.
