JUMLA, June 10: A mini video X-ray service has come into operation in the Sinja region of Jumla. The service has been made available at the Handsinja health post in the Kankasundari Rural Municipality in the district.
According to Birendra Prasad Upadhyaya, Incharge of the health post, the video X-ray service has made it easier for pregnant women in the region to have a normal check-up. Earlier, women in the region would have to travel a long distance to reach Karnali Hospital for a pregnancy test. “The availability of a video X-ray service in the village has made it easy to conduct pregnancy tests,” he said.
Jumla remains disconnected from province capital
Locals are very happy with the installment of health equipment such as the video X-ray in a nearby health post. The service is expected to decrease the maternal mortality rate in the rural region.
Furthermore, the health office has brought other facilities like lab service, nutrition improvement center, pregnancy service, ultrasound, isolation ward and a temporary COVID hospital into operation to provide better health service to the local residents.
