The nine people including two children, five women and two men died on the spot. Nine others were injured in the accident that took place as the jeep fell some 800 meters below the road.
The deceased have been identified as Jamisara Magar,22, of Bharatipur-3, Lila Prasad Ranabhat,59, and nine-year-old Saurav Ranabhat and Dalli Maya Pandey,55, of Burlingtar-3 and 13-year-old Narayan Pata of Burlingtar-6.
Likewise, Samisara Pariya of Mithukaram-6, Dhan Bahadur Rana of Jaubari-8, Bohisara Rana of the same locality and Sita BK of Shivamandir village died in the accident.
The condition of five of the nine people injured is reported critical. They are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Medical College.
