KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA) Vice President of Bundestag (lower house of German parliament) Claudia Roth is arriving in Kathmandu on a three-day official visit to Nepal on April 9. According to a press statement issued by the Embassy of Germany in Kathmandu on Friday, Roth will lead a three-member delegation. “This visit aims to further strengthen parliamentary relations between our two countries, contributing to long-standing bilateral friendship and cooperation,” said the statement.

Vice President Roth will pay courtesy visits to President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar during her stay in Nepal. Besides her official meetings, Roth will share experiences with the Nepalese civil society in tackling several challenges in the fields of human rights, climate change and renewable energy among others. The German delegation will also visit the rich cultural heritages of Patan and Bhaktapur.
