KATHMANDU, July 16: The government has postponed the Verocell vaccination campaign in the Kathmandu Valley citing shortage of the vaccine.

The Verocell vaccination campaign, which was scheduled to end on Saturday, has been postponed until further notice, reads a press statement issued by the District Health Office, Kathmandu.

Nepal has been administering the first dose of Vero cell vaccine against COVID-19 across the country since the past few days.

Verocell was being administered to people older than 50 who haven’t received any shot of any COVID-19 vaccine. Teachers and employees at universities, school and college and staff of public vehicles were also given the first shot.

Similarly, those who provide emergency services and those who required to be vaccinated in order to travel to certain countries were also given the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.
