SINDHUPALCHOWK, June 10: The temporary bridge over the Melamchi River has been damaged due to incessant rains. The bridge connecting Melamchi, Indravati and Panchpokhari has been damaged due to the occurrence of heavy rainfall on Thursday night.
The temporary bridge was established over the river after a concrete bridge was swept away by floods in mid-June last year. The temporary bridge was used to cross the river following the incident. Chief of Melamchi Municipality Aitaman Tamang has requested the public to use the bridge of Bahunepati to reach Melamchi from Indravati and Panchpokhari.
"Now it is not possible to bring the temporary bridge into operation. However, the Bahunepati bridge can be used as an alternative to cross Melamchi," said Chief Tamang.
