A group of 15 to 18 persons thrashed VDC secretary Bindi Lal Mandal at Raj Devi Chowk in Rajbiraj for "misusing the budget allocated for the VDC".
Mandal, who was taken to District Development Committee Office after the incident, admitted some mistakes in allocating the VDC´s budget and promised to address the villagers´ concerns.
Meanwhile, an unknown group set fire to the VDC Office in Satasidham of Jhapa district Sunday night, according to Area Police Office, Jhilmile.
