KATHMANDU, Jan 18: The weather in the hilly areas of the Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali regions is expected to be variable today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is currently a partial influence of western winds in Nepal.
The MFD states that it is currently cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, while the remaining areas are partly cloudy to mainly clear. Also, there is fog in most of the Terai areas of the country.
Windstorm with rainfall likely today
Similarly, the weather will remain mostly clear in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces this afternoon, while the rest of the areas will be partly cloudy. Also, there is a possibility of light rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of the country. The MFD mentioned that there is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces, while the weather will be partly cloudy to mostly clear in the rest of the region. There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
