Value of USD remains stable

KATHMANDU, Jan 27: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the foreign currency exchange rates for Monday.


The value of the US dollar remains stable, while those of the Euro, British Pound Sterling, Singapore Dollar, and South Korean Won have increased. However, the value of the Swiss Franc, Canadian Dollar, and Swedish Kroner have declined. Other foreign currencies remain stable.


According to the central bank, the buying rate for one US dollar is Rs 137.64, and the selling rate is Rs 138.24.

The buying rate for one Euro is Rs 144.44, and the selling rate is Rs 145.07. The British Pound Sterling has a buying rate of Rs 171.80 and a selling rate of Rs 172.55. For the Swiss Franc, the buying rate is Rs 151.95, and the selling rate is Rs 152.61.


The Australian Dollar has a buying rate of Rs 86.87 and a selling rate of Rs 87.25. The Canadian Dollar’s buying rate is Rs 95.95, and the selling rate is Rs 96.37. The Singapore Dollar has a buying rate of Rs 102.26 and a selling rate of Rs 102.70.


The Japanese Yen (for 10 units) has a buying rate of Rs 8.82 and a selling rate of Rs 8.86. The Chinese Yuan has a buying rate of Rs 19.00 and a selling rate of Rs 19.08. Saudi Arabian Riyal’s buying rate is Rs 36.69, and the selling rate is Rs 36.85. Similarly, the Qatari Riyal has a buying rate of Rs 37.75 and a selling rate of Rs 37.92.


According to the central bank, the Thai Baht’s buying rate is Rs 4.10, and the selling rate is Rs 4.11. The UAE Dirham’s buying rate is Rs 37.47, and the selling rate is Rs 37.64. The Malaysian Ringgit has a buying rate of Rs 31.44 and a selling rate of Rs 31.58, while the South Korean Won (for 100 units) has a buying rate of Rs 9.63 and a selling rate of Rs 9.67. The Swedish Kroner has a buying rate of Rs 12.60 and a selling rate of Rs 12.65, while the Danish Kroner has a buying rate of Rs 19.36 and a selling rate of Rs 19.44.


For the Hong Kong Dollar, the buying rate is Rs 17.68, and the selling rate is Rs 17.75. The Kuwaiti Dinar has a buying rate of Rs 446.72 and a selling rate of Rs 448.67. The Bahraini Dinar’s buying rate is Rs 365.13, and the selling rate is Rs 366.72. The Omani Riyal has a buying rate of Rs 357.59 and a selling rate of Rs 359.15.


Likewise, the buying rate for 100 Indian Rupees is Rs 160.00, and the selling rate is Rs 160.15.


NRB has stated that it reserves the right to revise these rates as needed. It also mentioned that exchange rates set by commercial banks may vary and that the updated rates are available on the central bank's website.
