Value of US dollar suffers decline

According to the fixed exchange rates, the value of the US dollar has fallen today. Meanwhile, the value of other foreign currencies, including the euro, pound sterling, and Swiss franc, has increased. While some foreign currencies remained stable, the value of others has decreased.

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has set the foreign exchange rates for today. According to the fixed exchange rates, the value of the US dollar has fallen today. Meanwhile, the value of other foreign currencies, including the euro, pound sterling, and Swiss franc, has increased. While some foreign currencies remained stable, the value of others has decreased.


As per the central bank, the buying rate for one US dollar is set at Rs 138.22, and the selling rate is Rs 138.82. The buying rate for one euro is Rs 142.67, and the selling rate is Rs 143.29. Similarly, the buying rate for one UK pound sterling is Rs 168.66, and the selling rate is Rs 169.40. For one Swiss franc, the buying rate is Rs 151.31, and the selling rate is Rs 151.96.


The buying rate for one Australian dollar is Rs 85.73, and the selling rate is Rs 86.10. One Canadian dollar's buying rate is Rs 95.55, and the selling rate is Rs 95.97. The buying rate for one Singaporean dollar is Rs 101.31, and the selling rate is Rs 101.75.

The buying rate for 10 Japanese yen is Rs 8.84, and the selling rate is Rs 8.88. For one Chinese yuan, the buying rate is Rs 18.90, and the selling rate is Rs 18.98. The buying rate for one Saudi Arabian riyal is Rs 36.84, and the selling rate is Rs 37.00. Similarly, for one Qatari riyal, the buying rate is Rs 37.92, and the selling rate is Rs 37.79.


According to the central bank, the buying rate for one Thai baht is Rs 4.04, and the selling rate is Rs 4.05. The buying rate for one UAE Dirham is Rs 37.63, and the selling rate is Rs 37.79. For one Malaysian Ringgit, the buying rate is Rs 30.76, and the selling rate is Rs 30.90. The buying rate for 100 South Korean won is Rs 9.53, and the selling rate is Rs 9.57. For one Swedish krona, the buying rate is Rs 12.40, and the selling rate is Rs 12.45. The buying rate for one Danish krone is Rs 19.12, and the selling rate is Rs 19.21.


The buying rate for one Hong Kong dollar is Rs 17.76, and the selling rate is Rs 17.83. For one Kuwaiti dinar, the buying rate is Rs 448.00, and the selling rate is Rs 449.94. Similarly, the buying rate for one Bahraini Dinar is Rs 366.66, and the selling rate is Rs 368.25. For one Omani riyal, the buying rate is Rs 359.08, and the selling rate is Rs 360.64. Likewise, for 100 Indian rupees, the buying rate is Rs 160.00, and the selling rate is Rs 160.15.


NRB has stated that these exchange rates can be revised at any time if necessary. It also mentioned that the rates determined by commercial banks may vary and that the updated rates are available on the central bank's website.
