KATHMANDU, Jan 15: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has set the foreign exchange rates for today, with the value of the US dollar reaching a record high. The strengthening of the US dollar has also led to an increase in the value of other foreign currencies.
According to the fixed exchange rates, the buying rate for one US dollar is Rs 138.23, and the selling rate is Rs 138.83. Similarly, the buying rate for one euro is Rs 140.86, and the selling rate is Rs 141.47. For the British pound sterling, the buying rate is Rs 167.59, and the selling rate is Rs 168.32. The Swiss franc’s buying rate is Rs 150.77, and the selling rate is Rs 151.42.
The Australian dollar is valued at Rs 84.98 for buying and Rs 85.35 for selling. The Canadian dollar’s buying rate is Rs 95.80, and the selling rate is Rs 96.22. The Singapore dollar has a buying rate of Rs 100.56 and a selling rate of Rs 101.

The buying rate for 10 Japanese yen is Rs 8.79, while the selling rate is Rs 8.82. One Chinese yuan has a buying rate of Rs 18.85 and a selling rate of Rs 18.93. The Saudi Arabian riyal’s buying rate is Rs 36.82, and the selling rate is Rs 36.98, while the Qatari riyal has a buying rate of Rs 37.92 and a selling rate of Rs 38.08.
As per the central bank, the Thai baht is valued at Rs 3.97 for buying and Rs 3.99 for selling. The UAE dirham’s buying rate is Rs 37.63, and the selling rate is Rs 37.80. The Malaysian ringgit’s buying rate is Rs 30.65, and the selling rate is Rs 30.78. The South Korean won has a buying rate of Rs 9.39 for 100 units and a selling rate of Rs 9.43. The Swedish krona’s buying rate is Rs 12.25, and the selling rate is Rs 12.30, while the Danish krone’s buying rate is Rs 18.88, and the selling rate is Rs 18.96.
The exchange rate for the Hong Kong dollar is Rs 17.75 for buying and Rs 17.83 for selling. One Kuwaiti dinar is valued at Rs 447.52 for buying and Rs 449.46 for selling. The Bahraini dinar has a buying rate of Rs 366.67 and a selling rate of Rs 368.26. The Omani rial’s buying rate is Rs 359.06, and the selling rate is Rs 360.62.
Similarly, the buying rate for INR 100 is Rs 160, and the selling rate is Rs 160.15.
The NRB has stated that it can revise these exchange rates at any time as needed. The exchange rates set by commercial banks may differ, and the latest updates can be found on the central bank's website.
