According to a high-level official at the Kathmandu District Administration Office, the restriction orders are likely to be extended by one more week. He also added that hotels and restaurants are likely to be allowed to operate with 50 percent occupancy. Currently, they are  allowed to provide only take-away services. “Public transportation services, however, will not be allowed to resume their services.”

The local administration of the three districts in the Valley have eased some provisions in the orders over the past few weeks. Private vehicles have been allowed to operate according to the odd-even system since Tuesday. Similarly, different shops are also allowed to open on specific days.
