Vaidya meets Australian envoy

KATHMANDU, June 19: Suraj Vaidya, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has requested Australian ambassador to Nepal Glenn White to take diplomatic initiative in bringing Australian investment in Nepal´s infrastructure and services sector.[break]



At the meeting held at FNCCI Secretariat on Tuesdy, Vaidya and White held discussion on variety of issues related to Australian investment in Nepal. "We want to utilize the Australian experience in solar energy and develop different solar plants to fill the gap of energy shortage in the country," a statement issued by FNCCI quoted Vaidya as saying in the meeting.



Responding to Vaidya, White said that he would try his best to bring Australian investors to Nepal. "I will try to convince Australian investors to make Nepal their investment destination," White said in the meeting.
