US Deputy Secretary Verma pays courtesy call on PM Oli

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, Richard R Verma, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, Richard R Verma, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday.


During the meeting, Verma congratulated Nepal on the imminent finalization of the TRC.


PM Oli mentioned that Nepal's transitional justice laws are being finalized based on political consensus.

Verma, who arrived in Kathmandu earlier today, is scheduled to visit New Delhi, India after concluding his Nepal visit later today.


During his visit to Nepal, Verma met with PM Oli at Singha Durbar shortly after his arrival.


The US Embassy in Kathmandu confirmed that Verma will engage in discussions with government leaders, officials, development professionals, and business leaders while in Nepal.


This visit marks the first high-level US delegation to Nepal following the formation of the new government.
