KATHMANDU, July 29: The visiting US Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka on Friday.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed various areas of engagements, including development cooperation, economic support, food security and COVID-19 vaccines.
Lu is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. According to the US Embassy in Kathmandu, Assistant Secretary Lu will also hand over the U.S. Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) to Purnaa, a U.S. manufacturing company in Nepal that promotes ethical manufacturing by empowering traditionally marginalized people and survivors of exploitation.
Lu is scheduled to fly back home this evening after holding meetings with business, civil society, and other government leaders as well.
