KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA), Prem Bahadur Ale has said that the ministry has adopted a number of austerity measures under his leadership.
Addressing a program organized at the MoCTCA on Monday to issue permits to Nepal Airlines Corporation to allow import and export of hazardous substances on international flights, Minister Ale claimed that he has adopted austerity measures in every expenditure made by the ministry since he assumed office.

Minister Ale also mentioned that his goal is to make the state-owned Nepali Airlines Corporation (NAC) a profit-making institution. Stating that the NAC is currently bearing losses and facing difficulties even to pay interests of its loan, Minister Ale stressed on the need to uplift the NAC at all cost.
Minister Ale also mentioned that getting permission for import and export of hazardous substances was an achievement for Nepal. He said that there would be no hassle for traders in importing and exporting hazardous substances while NAC would be positioned to make some profits.
Minister Ale said that he was trying to correct the shortcomings, weaknesses, distortions and inconsistencies seen in all bodies under the ministry. He also urged all the bodies concerned to extend their cooperation.
