Nepali Congress (NC), Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party (TMDP) and Sadbhabana Party (SP) on Friday had jointly decided to accept MPRF´s parliamentary party decision to join the new government.
MPRF´s parliamentary party led by Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar is in favor of joining the UML-led coalition while the party´s central committee is against it.
"We condemn the four parties´ decision, which is intended to divide our party and continue to rule on Madhesi people," Yadav told reporters while coming out in the middle of a central committee meeting. He warned that the party will be compelled to rethink its earlier decision to support the government led by senior UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal. MPRF played a key role in garnering majority in the House in favor of Nepal.
"Dueing the election for Prime Minister, we had decided to support any party or leader ready to address the agenda raised by the Madhesi parties. But, yesterday´s four-party decision is not in line with that spirit," Yadav said.
According to Yadav, the ongoing central committee meeting was yet to decide on who should lead the party´s team in the government. He warned other political parties not to interfere in MPRF´s internal matters.
Parliamentary Party (PP) leader Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, however, has threatened to defy the party decision if it reverses the PP decision to send a team led by him in the cabinet. "If the Central Committee takes a decision contradicting with the Parliamentary Party´s decision, it will be objectionable and unfortunate," said Gachchhadar.
He said he would write a note of dissent on the decision if it goes against what the parliamentary party has decided earlier.
