RAJBIRAJ, Feb 3: Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) Chairman Upendra Yadav on Wednesday accused ruling parties of conspiring to impose presidential rule in the country.

“Ruling parties are reluctant to promulgate new constitution on time," Yadav said while addressing a protest rally organized by his party in Rajbiraj. He added, “Our party´s the third phase of protest is thus necessary to foil that conspiracy.”

He also accused the ruling parties of conspiring against the Madhes and Madhesi people´s rights. He said the third phase of protests of his party was to ensure rights of people from Madhesi, Dalit, backward, Muslim and other communities. “Our party wants new constitution promulgated on time,” he added.

He said the current government had a majority of defeated people. “The so called Special Security Plan introduced by the incumbent government has increased violence in the Terai,” he claimed.

Yadav also criticized the High Level Political Mechanism saying that it lacked inclusiveness. “The HLPM has no meaning since it is formed by excluding the Madhesi parties,” he said.

MPRF Co-Chairman Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta said the present government has been ignoring Madhesi people´s demands. He said his party is mulling over quitting the Constituent Assembly and starting new protests to ensure Madhesi people´s rights.
