UNMIN biased: Koirala

By No Author
NEPALGUNJ, March 5: Nepali Congress (NC) Acting President Sushil Koirala on Friday claimed that UNMIN´s bias had imperiled the ongoing peace process.

Speaking at a press meet in Nepalgunj, Koirala said things are getting complicated as UNMIN has remained silent over anti-peace activities of the Maoists. He claimed that UNMIN´s tacit support to the Maoists, who have been seeking anarchy and instability in the country, had pushed the country on the brink of crisis.

Koirala said that there were enough grounds to cast suspicions over the role of UNMIN as it has even failed to provide details of cantoned Maoist combatants.

Koirala, who arrived in Nepalgunj after visiting various districts in Rapti and Bheri zones, said Maoist excesses in villages continue unabated. He also said that the Maoists were chiefly to be blamed for the mushrooming of armed outfits in the Tarai. The armed groups, he said, have followed the path shown by the Maoists.

Koirala also asked journalists to continue writing against the excesses of Maoists and other armed outfits.
