Essential tests

As part of their career goals, youth should endeavor to be assertive and aware of their responsibilities, particularly of their responsibility towards their nation. They need to understand that their nation needs them at this point and that they have certain responsibility towards it. They also need to stop thinking that they are the leaders of tomorrow; because they are not the leaders of tomorrow, they are the leaders of today. They are leaders with great potentialities, one of the most valuable assets of our nation. Therefore, they need to harness their leadership skills and work to lead their country to new heights.

Youth should evaluate the opportunities as per their career priorities in order to save time and trouble. Running after opportunities that seem lucrative but isn’t the right choice only wastes effort. It is best to think and plan in advance. It’s important to think about what someone wants and which job is right for him/her. One should be clear about why one wants that job. It’s normal to make mistake while working. In fact, it’s the most normal thing that can happen, but repeating it again and again is a pretty bad thing. Learning from the mistakes, one should confront the problems and move towards the right direction.
For the year ahead, youth should plan their career goals in a way that enables them to feel satisfied about the job they’re doing or choosing to do; and develop their career path in a way that will help them to be content.

This is a difficult question for me because I never make plans. But I believe that in order to be successful, one should work hard and be passionate about their work. So as for their New Year’s resolution, youths should follow their passion and plan in a way that compels them to work hard. Of course it’s important to be happy as well; in fact that’s my only resolution!

Every young person should know that when talent and interest align, there is a good career ahead of him. Some of us are still stuck with the notion that we have to follow the path our parents lay in front of us. But I believe that we are the best judge of what we want to do and should do in life.  And following our parents’ wishes blindly doesn’t ensure success. So I urge young people to find out where their interests and talents lie. I also believe that if you have the talent for something, then you will develop the interest to make it work for you as a career, and vice versa. On a personal front, I’m working on a new book for which I have done 20% work. ‘Monsoon’ will be a love story and I hope it will be out by the end of BS 2072.

Passion for your job is of the utmost importance. So security should not be the driving factor when deciding on a career. Because when that happens, people lose out on the opportunity to explore their interests, and following your passion is where you can excel. If you’re someone who feels that you’re still undecided about what to do next, I think the answer lies within you. Every person has interests, whether it’s football, music or art. So just explore the possibilities that arise from that interest.
