He said UML lawmakers had decided that they would vote against Poudel and push for a new process to elect the new prime minister.[break]
When asked about the remarks in favor of Poudel expressed by some senior UML leaders, he said the remarks were personal and had nothing to do with party´s official stance. “Leaders may disagree and register their note of dissent but must abide by the decision taken by the party,” Badal said.
Badal said the NC should be ready to withdraw Poudel´s prime ministerial candidacy.
He said the UML is yet to name its prime ministerial candidate. “But it should be clear that our party will not accept Maoist leadership in the new government until the former rebel party completely detach themselves from its arms and armies,” he clarified.
