KATHMANDU, July 2: Following abrupt resignation by Minister for Agriculture Development Hari Prasad Parajuli, the CPN-UML has started preparations to pick its candidate to represent the party in the cabinet.
A meeting of top-notch leaders is underway at the Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Balkot in this regards on Thursday evening.
Organic agro farm in operation
Source close to the development said Balaram Banskota, Somnath Adhikari Pyasi, Keshav Lal Shrestha and Deepak Karki are among the candidate to be named next Agro Minister.
Banskota and Shrestha are the leaders of CPN-UML affiliated All Nepal Peasants’ Federation led by UML Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam.
Likewise, Pyasi is chief of UML Election Commission and Karki is lawmaker from Jhapa district.
Banskota and Shrestha are considered close to Home Minister Gautam, while Pyasi and Karki near to Chairman Oli.
Parajuli tendered resignation this morning bowing down to pressure from several quarters for misbehaving with women during a function to mark the National Paddy Day.
