UML Ward chairman candidate caught red-handed while distributing money to woo voters

SURKHET, May 12: A candidate was arrested for distributing money to voters against the election code of conduct.


Police arrested Rajan BC, a candidate for the post of ward chairman from the CPN-UML, while he was distributing money to voters in Anpsoti Tole in Gurbhakot Municipality-11 of Surkhet on Wednesday night.

According to SP Padam Bista, Chief of District Police Office, Surkhet, BC was arrested along with Rs 112,00 . "We have kept the arrested ward chairman candidate at the police post in Mehelkuna along with witnesses of the incident," said SP Bista. "We will hand him over to the election office after 10:00 AM."


It is said that BC had already distributed the money to a few people in Anpsoti before he was arrested by police.
