GANDAKI, Jan 25; Major opposition CPN-UML has submitted a 20-point memorandum to Chief Minister (CM) of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokhrel. UML Chief Whip Mayanath Adhikari submitted the memorandum amidst a programme organized at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers on Monday.

The UML expressed serious concern why the present government transferred the budget allocated by the previous government and curtailed development plans. It has dampened the people's hope for development, the UML argued. The provincial government was apathetic to implement the pride projects in the province, Adhikari said.

It is stated in the memorandum that the curtailment of the 'one house-one tap' program launched by the UML-led government would deprive the people of their right to clean drinking water.

CM Pokhrel has suggested that the provincial government reconstruct the roadways in Baglung, Dordi corridor of Lamjung, Marsyangdi corridor, Chunnubri of Gorkha which were damaged in the last monsoon.

He has also urged the government to widen the scope of coronavirus tests. Other issues mentioned in the memorandum are governance, employee management, strengthening of district hospitals, development authority, and Gandaki Technical Institute.
