KATHMANDU, May 30: CPN-UML has staged a victory rally in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) after UML candidate Bidya Sundar Shakya was elected as the KMC mayor.
Shakya secured 64, 913 votes against 45,269 votes garnered by his closest rival Raju Raj Joshi of Nepali Congress.
The rally which started from Kathmandu Mall passed through New Road, Indrachowk, Asan and Ratnapark before converging into a corner meeting at Bhrikuti Mandap.
