Street photography can be tricky but a highly satisfying genre of photography, if done right. Street photography does not just have to be literally photos taken on the street, it can be a style of photography that showcases the beauty of life and people, from shots of shadows during dusk to clothes hung on a rope.
A photo exhibition by photographer Deepak Tolange kicked off on Thursday at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, Lalitpur. The photo exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Germany and Goethe-Zentrum Institute to celebrate 60 years of friendship between Nepal and Germany.
The sixth edition of ‘IME-Global IME Bank Nepal Photo Contest 2075’ kicked off on Wednesday at Nepal Art Council, Baber Mahal. The exhibition features 160 photographs selected from about 7,000 photographs from submissions of approximately 1,000 amateurs and professional photographers.

BHAKTAPUR, May 26: Some three and a half decades ago, farmer Dhruba Prajapati was heading for his fields in Bhaktapur. As usual, he carried his two small kids in a kharpan (shoulder bamboo with baskets dangling from either end). Unbeknownst to Prajapati, somebody captured the image in a camera. A few weeks ago, he was able to see the picture.

It was 1968 and the photographer was Jim Coleman. Half a century later, the chance photo has caught up with the father and child, and with Coleman also.
