“The concept paper will basically suggest ways to conclude the peace process, manage the Maoist combatants and write the new constitution, besides suggesting ways find a way out of the present deadlock,” Bishnu Rimal, who was also involved in the preparing the paper, told Republica. The paper will be presented at the party´s politburo meeting for deliberations. The concept paper will then be endorsed by the UML Central Committee (CC) before the party will present it to other parties for discussion.
According to him, the leaders will meet again on Saturday morning before the politburo meeting to be held at the party headquaters in Balkhu.
The third-largest party in parliament has been sticking to its neutral position urging the two prime ministerial candidates to withdraw their candidacy and start the election process afresh on the basis of consensus.
The UML decided to first discuss the current political issues in the 39-member politburo by deferring the meeting of 116-member CC in a bid to facilitate the decision making process.
