KATHMANDU, August 25: Ghanshyam Bhusal, a leader of the main opposition party, CPN-UML, has suggested that if a ‘left front’ is formed in the upcoming elections, it can get up to 150 seats out of the 165 seats under direct election to the federal parliament. He made such a remark while presenting his proposal at the standing committee meeting of the party.

Leader Bhushal has submitted a report titled 'Proposal for the restoration of left supremacy in national politics under the leadership of CPN-UML'.

Bhushal, a political analyst, has predicted that based on the results of the local level, in the case of the formation of a ‘left front’, such a front can win about 150 seats out of the 165 direct seats in the federal parliament. “That means more than a two-thirds majority in parliament. The communist parties have a lot to lose if they do not form a left front. It is seen that the communist parties will split and the Nepali Congress will use the communist parties against the UML. No pretext can cover it up," Bhushal has mentioned in his proposal.

He has claimed that the task of restoring left supremacy is the most important one. Leader Bhushal has asked the party ranks to take the initiative as this work will be possible only under the leadership of the UML.

“We have to tell the world why the previous unity could not be sustained. There was a serious flaw in the process of that unity. No matter how responsible, person-centered campaigns are not sustainable and productive. The process of unity was basically entrusted upon two people, or the seeds of division were sown by two people. That weakness led to other incidents. We should learn from it. First of all, we have to be clear on this matter," he has said in the proposal.
