KATHMANDU, Feb 11: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that people's rights can be safeguarded by keeping country's sovereignty and independence intact.
At a programme organized by the party in the capital city today, Oli said that the UML has initiated the Mechi-Mahakali campaign for the implementation of the constitution.
Stating that his party was in favour of Madhesi, Dalit, Janajati and poor people, Oli claimed that there was no base in the illusions spread to state that the UML was against the Madhesi, Dalit, Janajati and poor people as claimed by some political parties.
On the occasion, UML General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel said that delineation of the provinces from the House would be against the constitution.
Likewise, UML Secretary Pradip Gyawali said that the party was carrying out different activities to reduce the class discrimination and social inequalities existing in the Tarai-Madhes. RSS
