KATHMANDU, May 10: The CPN-UML has condemned the killing of party cadre Kul Bahadur Tamang in a scuffle with the CPN (Maoist Centre) cadres that occurred at Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-1 in Dolakha Tuesday night.
Kul Bahadur, 33, the son of Gore Tamang, a CPN (UML) candidate for the post of a ward member at Gaurishankar-1 in the coming May 14 local-level election, was attacked to death by the CPN (MC) cadres as he was taking his meal at a hotel near the Jugu-based Neel Kantheshwor Secondary School along with his colleagues, the party said in a statement today, strongly condemning the incident.
The party claimed that the CPN (MC) cadres and supporters also assaulted party's former village committee secretary Dil Bahadur Budhathoki at his home, leaving him seriously injured.
The party, demanding the government immediately bring the guilty in both incidents to book, sought appropriate compensation to the grieving family and free medical treatment to the injured. RSS
