DHARAN, March 16: Galaxy Fitness’ Umesh Rai has been crowned as the champion of the third National Bodybuilding Championship in the final event held in Jhapa on Saturday.

Rai entered the event in the +75 kg category and won the final overall round to secure the title hosted at Sabha Griha in Damak. Rai bagged the cash prize of Rs 250,000.

Similarly, Rupandehi Fitness Dang’s Krishna Prasad Shrestha and Lalitpur Balbhairabh Gym’s Binod Sunar finished on second and third positions respectively. They received the cash prize of Rs 150,000 each. Shrestha entered the contest in the 75 kg category whereas Sunar was categorized as a 70 kg entrant.

Likewise, Phoenix Fitshala’s Manoj Subedi finished fourth after entering the contest in the 65 kg category. He bagged a cash prize of Rs 40,000 whereas Prabin Rajbanshi won RS 30,000 finishing fifth in the contest in the 55 kg category.

55 kg category’s Pravin Shrestha won the most improving athlete of the tournament whereas 65 kg category’s Bijendra Man Shrestha won the best poser award.

Also, +75 kg category’s Sanju Lama secured the improving bodybuilder award.
