KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has decided to skip the demand of autonomous Madhes state in the talks to be held with the Maoists on Monday.

According Vice Chairman of Sadbhawana Party Laxman Lal Karna, the front made the decision as the demand is something to be decided by the Constituent Assembly. [break]

Karna said the UDMF will prominently raise the issues of peace process, army integration, return of the seized properties and group entry of Madhesis in the national army during the talks with the Maoists. “We may take a decision to support the Maoists if they agree to meet these demands,” he said.

The UDMF is scheduled to hold another round of talks with Maoists and Nepali Congress separately on Monday before taking any decision over whom to support in the prime ministerial runoff.
