Addressing the concluding session of the central committee meeting of All Nepal National Independent Student Union (Revolutionary) (ANNISU-R) at Thankot, Kathmandu, Dahal said that his party has replaced the old political establishment to form a new force. He also claimed that China recognized his party and its leadership as the new political establishment of the country.[break]
“Our party is the new political establishment after the abolition of monarchy. Whether other parties accept it or not our party is the new political establishment. This is the reality,” Ramesh Malla, vice-chairman of ANNSU-R, quoted Dahal as saying.
Dahal also claimed that other political parties and their leaders do not deserve to share the political space with UCPN (Maoist). “Neither Nepali Congress nor the CPN-UML deserve to be recognized as the political establishment,” he said.
Dahal also explained how the Shah rulers in their 240 years of history remained the only political force in the country. He also argued that the idea of republic was introduced by the UCPN (Maoist) and that helped the party emerge as the biggest political force in the Constituent Assembly election held in 2008.
Dahal returned from his week-long visit to China on Saturday night. Dahal was the first South Asian leader to be invited by the Chinese Communist Party after the recent leadership change in China.
Speaking at the function, Dahal also instructed the student leaders to be prepared for protests should the Khila Raj Regmi-led fail to conduct election in November.
