Pokharel claimed that the two parties were working to forge an alliance against him “as voters in the constituency were increasingly attracted toward UML.”[break]
“I have heard that the status quo-ists and radical leftists have joined hands against UML. This type of unholy alliance will never be in the interest of the country,” said Pokharel while addressing a corner meet at Tokha on Friday.
During the door-to-door campaign in the area, he urged the locals to vote for UML promising to launch pro-people programs after election.
Meanwhile, a central committee meeting of All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU), student wing of the UML, on Thursday has come up with a special plan of action with a view to support the mother party in the coming election.
“At least 30 youths will be deployed in each polling booth and the district head of the ANNFSU, central committee member from the area or any regional chair will lead the group,” said a statement issued by the organization on Friday.
Among other plans, the student body has also decided to form a publicity committee for campaigning.
