A meeting of the CC held today at the party central office in Paris Danda took a decision to this end arguing that the size was extended to 399 for incorporating all sides. [break]
After the meeting, UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota said the CC would be given full shape by adding 248 alternative CC members as per the decision of the recently concluded seventh general convention of the party.
The seventh general convention had elected 98 CC members.
The next meeting of CC would take place on March 30 and would divide portfolio to the leaders as well as formation of the Standing Committee and Politburo committees.
Asked about the jumbo size of the CC, spokesperson Sapkota said the decision was taken to include all levels, regions, women, marginalized communities and others in the party.
Meanwhile, singer and cultural worker and CPN-Maoist´s senior advisor Khusi Ram Pakhrin defected the party to join the UCPN (Maoist) today.
Issuing a press statement, Pakhrin said he returned ´home´ as the UCPN (Maoist) was the mainstream of the Nepal´s communist movement.
