Rajendra, who was attending a dinner party of his neighbor was attacked in his neck with sharp weapons from behind by a group led by Pramod Mandal.[break]
Rajendra, who fell in the ground after attack, breathed his last at Birgunj-based Narayani Sub-regional Hospital during the treatment at around mid-night, UCPN (Maoist) district leader Shree Prasad Paswan informed.
According to Thakur Prasad Gyawali, chief district officer, police have begun an investigation over the incident and some people were also nabbed in connection with the attack.
However, the main suspect, Pramod Mandal is still at large after the incident.
Meanwhile, UCPN (Maoist) leader and Bhojpura State Council Chairman Prabhu Sah demanded a strong action to those behind Mandal’s murder at the earliest. Issuing a press statement today, Sah also demanded a compensation be provided to the family of victim.
