UCPN (M) for continuation of statute writing despite disputes

KATHMANDU, June 26: The UCPN (Maoist) has decided to continue the constitution writing despite some disputes.

The meeting of the ideological debate management committee of the party on Friday underscored that it was for settling the disputed issues and preparing the final draft of the constitution by June 28 and for making utmost efforts to submit the final draft in the Constituent Assembly, said party Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma.Similarly, the party reiterated the stand that the constitution writing could move ahead as per the 16-point agreement made among the four major political parties.

Party leaders who are also the members of the constitution draft committee briefed the meeting about the progress made in the constitution writing.

The meeting also discussed the issues as recent politics and the International Conference on Nepal's Reconstruction.

The Spokesperson further said the party was against the way the government took to form the reconstruction authority. The government's method on its formation was arbitrary, he added. RSS
