Two works made public in memory of great poet Devkota

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Tribute was paid to the Great Poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota, on the occasion of the 105 Th anniversary of the late poet amid a programme here today.



At a program organized by the Nepal Cultural Association, various litterateurs discussed about the contribution made by Devkota in Nepal´s literary field.[break]



Senior lyricist Kali Prasad Rijal said true tribute would be to honor and protect his creations, whereas Association Chairman Govind Dev Pant discussed the contribution of Devkota in enriching Nepali literature.



Various poets had recited their poems at the programme. Two books by Anuradha Thapa, Deshko Chintan, a collection of articles and Kasturi, an anthology of poetry was also released.



Releasing the works, Rijal said it was happy that women are also penning in Nepali literature, whereas Prof. Lila Luintel said the book of articles had pointed out confusion and aberrations in the country and poetry had expressed worries on corruption and women´s agonies.



Writer Thapa said both works incorporated thinking on the country, Mahakavi Devkota and women´s sensibilities.
