KATHMANDU, July 11: A joint Market Monitoring Team comprising representatives of different government bodies on Monday sealed two water bottling industries at Matatirtha of the Capital City.
The team sealed the production units of Matatirtha Spring Water and Beverage Pvt Ltd and Spring Minister Water of Matatirtha Pvt Ltd.
Investigation Officer at Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DFTQC), Dashrath Kumar Verma, told Republica Online that the factories had poor management, no labs and restrooms were in dilapidated condition.
“The seal will be opened only after the factories inform the DFTQC after implementing the directives for improvements,” he said.
The team led by Department of Supply and Consumer Welfare comprised of representatives from Ministry of Supplies, DFTQC and District Administration Office, Kathmandu among others.
