Shamans die while showcasing ‘godly prowess’

BAJURA, April 29: Two shamans died after diving in the Karnali River while trying to showcase their ‘godly power.’



Body of Mansingh Bista, 61 has been recovered. However, that of Jay Bahadur is missing, according to chief district officer, Luk Bahadur Chhetri.

As the shamans were shivering before they showed godly powers, locals did not take attempts to save the two. 


An investigation is ongoing while both the police and the army have been deployed to search for Jay Bahadur’s body. Jagannath rural municipality is two days away from the district headquarter.
